A genuine piece of hardworking Carhartt history! This vintage J01 BRN Detroit Jacket was made in the USA and has a September 2001 date code. Its sturdy brown duck shell, striped blanket lining, contrasting corduroy collar, and classic short work-jacket silhouette make it a wonderful find for Carhartt enthusiasts and vintage workwear fans.
The shorter, waist-length cut is part of the classic Detroit Jacket design. This jacket was stored rather than regularly worn because that shorter fit did not suit the previous wearer’s tall frame and longer torso.

💗 Condition
Excellent vintage condition overall. There are no rips, tears, holes, or damaged seams, and the cotton duck shell remains in fabulous shape. The zippers and snaps are all in proper working order.
There are a few small dark marks on the underside of the right forearm near the cuff, along with a small lighter surface mark near the cuff edge. Because of their location underneath the sleeve, they are not especially noticeable during normal wear. Please review the included close-up and wider sleeve photographs carefully.
This jacket has been very well cared for and, to the best of our knowledge, minimally washed or cleaned during its lifetime. When not in use, it was kept hanging in a closet, and it has been stored indoors in a storage box for approximately the past 12 years.
The subtle tonal variation throughout the cotton duck fabric is normal character that this material can develop after washing and with age.
